Blockchain Lead
Early-Stage Climate Focused Startup Seeking Senior Leader with Background in Blockchain/Crypto
Overview: GreenGrid, a new startup at the intersection of climate and blockchain, seeks a Blockchain/Crypto Lead to oversee the company’s blockchain strategy and product development.
Company: GreenGrid will create a new market related to renewable energy production, leveraging blockchain technology and tokenization. The business is currently in an early stage, but the idea is sound, the market is huge, and there are currently no other companies targeting the same niche.
In addition to its climate mission, the company is focused on social and economic impact. It is incorporated as a Delaware Public Benefits Corporation and will apply for B Corp status. Additionally, it is our goal to recruit a diverse senior leadership team focused on creating equal opportunity for those from all backgrounds and experiences. Climate change is a universal issue; we need a team that brings a diversity of perspectives and experiences to build the foundations and future of our company.
CEO: CEO has previously had a very successful exit in another industry, has served on numerous boards, and worked in private equity. He is a former U.S. Marine officer, a McKinsey alumnus, and is a graduate of Wharton, Harvard, and Georgetown.
Ideal Blockchain/Crypto Lead: Ideal Blockchain/Crypto Lead has a record of success, deep knowledge of blockchain technology and applications, and a passion to apply that knowledge to the fight against climate change. She or he must be eager to take on the challenge of building and scaling a business that will have a significant environmental, social, and economic impact.
Role:
Responsibilities:
Drive blockchain-related product development and strategy
Manage relationships with external developers
Lead and grow team as needed
Work with CEO on various aspects of growing and scaling a new business
Time commitment: Initially full or part-time but the candidate must be willing and able to convert to full-time quickly as the business begins to gain traction.
Compensation: Significant equity and some cash compensation (to be discussed during initial conversations)
Location: Remote/virtual (CEO located in Greater Boston)
Title: To be discussed but something senior, potentially CXO, since this will be a pivotal role in the company; candidate can help shape title and role based on background and preferences.
Requirements:
Strong blockchain experience
Minimum of several years of professional experience and/or a relevant advanced degree
Ability to start immediately and the flexibility to work with the CEO, putting in the hours necessary to move the business forward before transitioning to full-time
Potential roles possible for candidates with similar skill sets but earlier in their careers, so please feel free to apply!
